Leah Solita Mangum is a multi-media artist from the blue ridge mountains of western North Carolina. As a third generation potter, she has worked with clay since childhood with her parents and grandparents of Mangum Pottery. All ceramic items are made in her family studio located in Weaverville just outside of Asheville. Leah is in a year long apprenticeship and mentor-ship at the Village Potters in the River Arts District of Asheville. She received a BFA in Fine Art focusing in painting from Appalachian State University. Leah also creates jewelry adornments with gemstones, brass, leather, clay and other organic elements. She has recently developed a love for herbal remedies and the craft of herbal products.
